OOC: This topic is closed. For the time being, only Kitsu and myself can post here until stated otherwise ~ Note: 'Eminence' is just a fancy word for 'high ground' in this sense.
So called for it's clear view of the heavens, the Starfall Eminence - nicknamed as such by locals - sat on the fast east border of the country of rice fields, overlooking the vast territories beyond. From it's strategic position high above the dominant forests and marshy lowlands it boasted a view second to none other in the country. Far to the south even the mountains marking the border of the country of Fire were visible, illuminated by the faint light that bathed the scene - whether it be sun, moon or star.
The days' clear weather was birthing another cloudless evening, a slight, sickly-sweet late summers breeze whipping over the curvature of the hill and disturbing the natural foliage and plantlife that bordered it. The sun hung low in the western sky, silhouetting distant monuments of the landscape like giant omniscient sentinels. Wildlife was scarce, giving way to an almost unnatural silence in which even the rustle of leaves seemed amplified - yet soothing.
Faintly at first but quickly loudening with the closing of distance, an awkward, shuffling rustle became apparent as a hunched figure loped from the camouflage of the surrounding forest and through the accompanying undergrowth, his figure hard to place in the lengthening shadows. He slowly dragged himself up the slope before collapsing on the summit of the hill, his breathing weak and ragged. A second body rolled from his back and fell to the soft grass where it lay motionless, still fast asleep despite the long journey.
Katsumi, exhausted, looked across at Kitsu's form, noting how comfortable it looked in the long, wild shoots of plants despite her awkward position. Mustering what was left of his strength he rose to his knees and shifted her to lie on her back, knowing he hadn't the energy left to lift her again, before removing his (somewhat bloodstained) cloak and placing it over her as a makeshift blanket. He then stood, slowly, and stumbled several meters away to the lone tree in the center of the hill and collapsed at it's base.
Slumped weakly against it's trunk, his vision, blurred from tiredness, prevented him from seeing clearly the beauty and peacefulness of the scene around him. He grimaced in pain as he tried to shift his weight from the wound on his back, succeeding in only irritating it further. Despite his condition me managed a weak smirk as he remembered his thoughts from earlier in the day; He had found his hill - be it accidentally - and the sky looked set to share with him a pleasant sunset as the day waned out into night. He took a deep, painful breath, relishing the taste of the fresh air as it shot down his swollen throat. He closed his eyes and exhaled slowly before he finally slipped into unconsciousness, many hours and several miles overdue.

Kitsu was caught in another dream. Crimson, that color that plagued her memories, yet strangely intrigued her. It flashed before her eyes, streaming, splashing into the ground. No! Stop it! Kitsu’s mind screamed. She dreamt of the swords, and flashing of chakra, the calls of attacks…such familiar voices. Such voices, No, she thought, No, they wouldn’t! There was a blur, so many figures all fighting each other. “Katsu-kun, Senshi-kun…” She murmured before sitting up suddenly, and reeling a moment, head pounding as she awoke. She blinked a few times before looking over to see Katsumi slumped against a tree, bleeding. She let out a gasp, and forgetting her headache, rushed to his side “Katsu-kun! Katsu-kun! You’re hurt! What happened? I…” she thought of her dream, “I wasn’t dreaming, you and Senshi–kun were fighting! Are you okay? Is Senshi-kun okay? What about the other man? Where is everyone?” her eyes were frantic; searching over him again and again waiting for a reply, “Please don’t die!” she cried, over-reacting, and breaking into sobs as she pulled bandages from her pack. She began quickly cleaning his wounds and bandaging him. His unconsciousness only added to her panic. She laid him down flat and went to work, accessing the wound on his stomach only by removing the clothing there. The light soon left them in the near dark of night, and by the time she had finished the moon was beginning to peer down upon them. Despite the beauty of this place, her eyes were still full of tears, “Please Katsu-kun” she sobbed resting her head on his chest, “I won’t watch you die! Never again,” she cried, “I won’t watch anyone I care about die ever again!” her tears fell down her cheeks and onto his chest. His breathing steady and heartbeat calm. Her sobs quieting down to a gentle weeping as she laid with him, listing to the rhythmic sounds of the life within.

Katsumi roused slowly to the muffled sound of sobbing. He immediately felt the cold hit him... yet, warmth, at the same time. He tried to place the feeling before giving up and cracking his eyes open to investigate.
"K-Kitsu?!" He was surprised to find her hunched over him, crying. He looked down over himself, realizing he had lost his shirt and aquired bandages.
"...You did this?" The comforting warmth on his chest shifted slightly as she heard his voice.

Upon hearing his voice Kitsu sat up and, wiping the tears from her eyes, blushed as she just now, noticed the way the light shown over his the fine play of muscles in his chest, abs, and shoulders. Despite the bandages and blood he looked…different than before, though Kitsu didn’t know how. [OOC: *cough* she thinks he’s sexy *cough* attraction *cough, cough* darn allergies…]
“Y-yes I did.” She said, bringing her hand up to chew the end of her glove like always, suddenly feeling vulnerable, “I couldn’t just let you bleed to death, not while I could do something about it…I couldn’t just watch you die like that.” Her voice broke again and she looked away from him, trying to hold back another wave of tears, “I’m sorry…” she stammered, “I- I’m such a cry-baby.” She closed her eyes and tears escaped from each, gliding down the smooth of her cheek before dripping off her chin and disappearing into the swell of her bosom. Despite this display of tears, Katsumi may have noticed that the moonlight shown over her as well, accenting her features, bathing her in silver-blue light. The deserted path of tears, glistening slightly, shining like her teary eyes as she gazed off into the distance; both hands now fists curled beneath her chin as she sat there repressing the emotions that filled her.

He slowly brought an arm up and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"I..." He trailed off, searching for the right words. He suddenly began to realize their surroundings; how the crescent moon now high in the sky illuminated Kitsu's slender, attractive face and body, glinting off of the fresh tears silently rolling down her cheeks. He felt himself blushing slightly under her gaze.
"..Thanks" he said simply, smiling warmly. Out of the corners of his eyes he was able to glimpse the night sky above, filled with countless stars. He allowed his pupils to follow and stared upwards for a moment, before remembering the scene and looking quickly back at Kitsu.
"Beautiful..." He grinned further. Whether he was talking about her or the view, he didn't say.

Kitsu found herself trembling at his touch, but again was clueless as to why.
"You're welcome." she said, her voice still shaky from crying. "I-" She couldn't hold back her happy nature any longer, "Katsu-kun, I'm so glad your okay!" she said, flying against him and wrapping her arms around him, forgetting his wounds and nuzzling her teary face into his shoulder.
As they sat together on the ground. Kitsu could feel the cool of the night, the warmth of her fading tears, and even more so, his warmth. She noticed it, drank it in. Soon her tears disappated and her found herself just enjoying th embrace. How long had she been sitting here huging him like this? Why did he make her feel so strange? Why did her body react to the slightest touch? Why was this hug different from any other? All these questions floated through Kitsu's mind, but she didn't dwell. For now she just felt his warmth, breathed his scent, and reveled in the thought of someone caring about her, and for once, not fearing her.

He was shocked by her sudden move as she latched onto him, but quickly welcomed it and closed his arms around her, pulling her closer to him. He let his head rest on hers and he closed his eyes, finally able to feel the pain in his body ebbing away in the moment.
"I.. I'm sorry, Kitsu" he muttered, "For what happened back there. I didn't mean to... the drink" he finished quickly, not making sense and unsure of what to say. Another few minutes passed before he finally pushed her away slightly and looked into her eyes, but didn't loosen his arms from around her. He steeled himself, his face a deep shade of red.
"I really like you!" he said, finally, glad to get the words out of his mind where they had been nagging for quite some time. He anxiously watched her, unsure of her response...

Kitsu looked up at him, smile renewed. “I like you too Katsu-kun!” She said hugging him again tightly, still ignoring his wounds in the moment. Again, Kitsu saw this as nothing more than a bonding of friends. Her innocent mind could not comprehend the idea of romance (with anyone other than her precious Orochi-kun) without some large sign of such extreme affection.
She looked at him, as her new and only friend. It was then her mind drifted to Senshi, he was her friend too right? No, he wasn’t, he didn’t look at her like Katsumi did, he didn’t treat her with the same kindness. For a moment, a wave of shame washed over her. She had wanted to be accepted so bad that she made herself think they had been friends when things were the exact opposite. Despite this, she still cared for Senshi and wondered why he had acted that way.
However the warmth of Katsumi’s embrace brought her back to him. Her eyes glistened up at him, her smile as bright as always. He was her real friend, this time she wasn’t pretending, wasn’t ignoring the facts. Katsumi wasn’t like the others, he wasn’t afraid to look at her, talk to her, and even hold her like this.
By this point Kitsu thought she’d explode with joy, but all this wonderful atmosphere ended abruptly with a rather loud growl…from Kitsu’s stomach. Her eyes widened in another blush and she pulled away from him smiling.
“Eheh, sounds like it’s time to eat huh?” she giggled before reaching into the pack at her waist to pull out three pieces of dried meat. “What? This is it? This isn’t enough at all!” She set the pieces aside, and stood. She formed the seals, bit her thumb, and slammed her hand to the ground. “Mabui no Jutsu!” she called, and suddenly five colored blob creatures appeared. The largest pink one looked around,
“Is everything alright Miss Kitsu?” Asked Akihiku,
“Yeah why’d ya call us out for?” asked the yellow one named Isamu.
“I need you five to go find us some food. I’m hungry so do it fast!” She said in the most commanding tone she could muster. With that the balls bounced off elsewhere to complete the task given to them. Kitsu sat down beside Katsumi again, oblivious to his expression in reaction to her method of finding food.
“Well it looks like this is all we have until Akihiku gets back.” She said handing him a piece of meat with a smile, “I made it myself, it’s kinda bland, and dry, but it’s good anyway! Not as good as ramen of course, or miso for that matter! Oh, and then it could never match up with pocky or spring rolls, but then again meat buns are really good too. Wow I could really go for some meat buns...or sweet rolls, sweet rolls are so good. Have you ever had any Katsu-kun? They’re the best!” she babbled, completely back to her normal self. She laughed and continued talking, almost as if Katsu wasn’t there.
But it was not a rude gesture, she had become so accustomed to talking to herself, she didn’t know when to stop.

Although a little annoyed at the sudden change of mood, Katsumi had to agree with her as he realized his own hunger. He watched Kitsu for awhile, shocked at the appearance of the multicolored blobs. He couldn't help himself and laughed at the scene, a little worried for her sanity as she commanded the creatures.
"Youre..." he began, 'Kawaii', ran through his mind, "Weird" he finished and grinned again, hoping she wouldn't take it as an insult. Now able to feel the cold he began looking around for his shirt but couldn't see it, instead spotting his jacket lying discarded several meters away where he had left it over Kitsu. He tried to pull himself up to fetch it, but failed and fell back with a painful grunt as he hit the tree. Ahwell, It's not too bad a night, anyway...
He accepted the lump of dry meat gratefully and chewed on it thoughtfully, staring around him at the scene and the open, breathtaking view of the vast night sky.

Kitsu shut her mouth. Silenced by his comment. Weird? She giggled and scooted up beside him, leaning against the same tree.
"Thanks!" she smiled, "No one has ever called me that before."
When he tried to move for his jacket and fell back against the tree Kitsu stopped chewing her meat and turned all her attention to him.
"Katsu-kun! You shouldn't move, not yet anyway." She found herself telling him this as she was between his legs, her tiny body trapping him against the tree. "Don't worry," she said, poking his nose, "I'll take care of you. But you have to promise not to do anything until you get better." Kitsu tried to look serious, but her current position atop him made it impossible, she only succeeded in looking cute. Regardless Kitsu meant it. She wasn't going to let anything bad happen to him so long as she could help it.

He looked into her eyes and noted the seriousness he saw, despite how playful she looked, the reflections in her pupil-less eyes dancing in the starlight. "Yeah...Alright" he muttered, speaking quietly seeing as she was so close. He reached forward and took her hand after she poked him, without planning to lacing his fingers with hers, noting the softness of her skin as he did so. He half closed his eyes and rested his head back against the tree, relaxing further.
"I promise" he added. He could see the coloured blobs from before in the corner of his vision but chose to ignore them as they bounced through the undergrowth.
"You're worried about me?" he closed his eyes fully as he realized how tired he still was, although he didn't plan to fall asleep with the girl still lying on him.

The touch of his hand sent shivers down her spine, and she was again filled with those strange sensations from before.
"Of course I am, Katsu-kun." She said relaxing on him, as he still had her hand. Her bosom squshing wonderfully upon him as she relaxed and looked at him.
Suddenly the blobs returned and Kitsu stole Katsumi's moment of delight by sitting up slightly, thus removing the soft of her bosom from him.
The blobs had returned with several fish and kindling.
"This was all we could find miss." Said Akihiku, "I hope it's enough."
"That's fine, good job. You're all dismissed." with that they all seemed to bow and dissapear into puffs of smoke. She turned back to Katsumi. "Well here's our dinner..." she paused deciding whether her stomach or the sensations she was feeling would win, and thus decide her next move. For the next few moments, she let the sensations win, and remained close to him. Eventually her stomach would take over and she would be forced to cook and eat the fish.
[OOC: Can't keep a hungry girl waiting! lol]

He placed his free hand on her waist, but loosened his grip on her slightly, giving her the chance to pull away if she so wished.
Forgive me. He thought, although didn't quite have the will to say it as he lifted himself up slightly and moved in for a closer embrace, his lips brushing her cheek for a half-second as he did so. He hung there, unsure of what to do. Below, his stomach growled in annoyance.

[OOC: he may not know it, but Katsu-kun has some moves! ^_^]
Kitsu’s eyes widened yet again as a blush washed over her face in the dark of evening. His hand had moved lower, resting innocently on the small of her back, however this simple gesture made her thighs tense suddenly and sending another wave of sensations through her. She quickly moved away from him laughing nervously.
“Well, we’d better get this fire built huh? Better get those fish cooking soon, or else!” She smiled again, nervously, still laughing slightly. She then set to work, vigorously setting up a fire pit, and before long had the fish roasting and the fire big and hot.
She sat on the other side of the fire, knees tucked under her chin, gazing at him through the flames, still trying to understand the way her body reacted to him. She had never felt that before, the rushing of blood, the tensing of muscles. Maybe she had felt something similar on that night long ago, but it wasn’t like this. No, this was completely different. Her eyes weren’t burning crimson with the passionate heat of revenge filled with murderous intent to kill, this time they filled with something different, but just as intense. Something Kitsu didn’t understand.
Se sifted through what she knew. Hate? No, something deeper; Joy? This was so much more. Sadness? No she wasn’t sad. She pondered for what seemed to her like an eternity, all the while gazing at his dark eyes through the fire. All these thoughts are hurting my brain, she thought.Maybe I’m sick? No I feel okay…
For now Kitsu decided to let her confusion settle and decided that she’d just let thing be what they were. She grabbed one of the skewered fish from the flame’s edge. “Here you go Katsu-kun,” she said crawling around the fire to him. She remained on all fours and held the fish out to him. Thus, unknowingly giving him a perfect view of the soft swell of her chest, before smiling happily and crawling back to get her own fish.

Katsumi basked in the radiance of the fire, letting it's warmth flood into his limbs and dispel the darkness that otherwise veiled the hill. Through the flickering fingers of flame he could see Kitsu gazing at him and apparently deep in thought. He gnawed on the fish idly, trying to think of a way to lighten the mood.
"Those... blobs" he began, trying to think of a better term but failing, "What are they?" It had definitely looked like a summoning jutsu from what he had seen, yet he'd never heard of one so... cute? Then again... I wasn't paying so much attention to the blobs, rather the person commanding them... He admitted to himself, suppressing a small grin as he did so. He shifted himself from leaning against the tree and instead lay down in the grass, nearer the fire and source of warmth where it was more comfortable. But... I have a feeling she's alot more than she seems... He glanced back over at her from his position the other side of the fire, tearing another strip of fish as he did so. Despite her almost-childish attitude and innocent appeal, she is a ninja of the Hidden Village of Sound, after all...
He dismissed the thoughts, never having been one to intrude on others so much as he had so far this night.
